Star Fox (2026) is an upcoming rail shooter game for Nintendo Switch 2, serving as the second remake of the classic Nintendo 64 game Star Fox 64 (1997) and a full reboot of the series. This is the first major Star Fox game since Star Fox Zero (2016), launching worldwide on June 25, 2026. Players control Fox McCloud, son of the late original Star Fox team leader James McCloud, leading a new Star Fox team to stop the evil mad scientist Dr. Andross from destroying the Lylat System. The game features intense aerial combat in Arwing fighter jets with expanded level design, an updated story, new character designs, and brand-new cinematic cutscenes.
